About Me:
I'm finishing up my last few classes at Auburn University this summer, which is a bit bittersweet, and in the process of finding an internship for the spring semester. I chose the Public Relations field because of the various opportunities associated with it. Since then, I thought I wanted to go into some sort of after-hours event planning job (perhaps with a charity organization) that works on several events per year. Recently, I've rethought this career choice, and I am beginning to lean towards doing something in the PR field of politics. In truth, I want to get some hands-on experience in some field to see what interests me. Wish me luck!

Graduate School: The Next Step

With many approaching graduation, the inevitable question is “What’s next?” Some choose the job route and have the frustrating task of a finding a job. Yet, some decide they just haven’t had enough of school and the next step is attending graduate school. Likewise, some leave undergraduate school with a degree in hand, but no job to speak of because graduate school is almost a necessity for their specified dream job. But what does applying to graduate school take? After college applications, we… Continue

"Real"ity Television

“Baby Borrowers.” “Pam: Girl on the Loose.” “Brooke Hogan Knows Best.” “Celebrity Circus.” Summer brings a variety of new shows to the networks. But are these new shows worth anything? For the most part, the new shows are reality television programs and the shows give the stars their fifteen minutes of fame says Mary Margaret Boswell, a senior in fashion merchandising. And who knew these would be titles of the summer sequence. Guilty pleasures or stupid shows, you take your pick, but it is sic… Continue

Who's Got Spirit

Auburn spirit doesn’t come natural. Much goes into the planning of pep rallies, tiger paw painting, even handing out orange and blue shakers before home football games. Lesley Ireland, a junior and English major, is this year’s SGA director of spirit. She says she and her committee are responsible for planning and organizing pep rallies and allocating block seating. But her main job is to keep track of all the spirit points that are competed for by various student organizations. “It’s given me… Continue

Not Your Average Class

You’ve sat down at the computer to register for classes this year. Before you sign up, you do a final class check. English, check. History, check. Computer, check. Self-defense and jogging. You look at it again. Self-defense and jogging. How can this be? At college you get more than just an education and what better way than to experiment with classes that you otherwise would have never had the opportunity to take. It may not be your average class, but it is necessary to be well-rounded. Kitt… Continue

An Olympian

With the start of a new Olympics, I looked up Coby Miller, a former Olympian and silver medal recipient. He competed in the 2000 summer Olympics in Track and Field and is training for the upcoming Olympic Games. I was curious to find out what’s the day in the life of a past and perhaps future Olympian. His event is the sprints and say his specialty is running the 100m and 200m. His days consisted of training for the Olympics under Auburn’s track and field coach, Ralph Spry, in an attempt to b… Continue
