What it feels like to almost be an Auburn graduate...

So this is it. I'm almost there. The end is in sight. In quantifiable, finger and toes numbered days. I think?

I've been in the digital resource library approximately 5-8 hours a day for the last week. I've consumed more red bulls this week than I have in the entire previous month. Right now I have a web page that is created, yet not launched and a knot in my stomach the size of the hard drive sitting in front of me.

One would think the thought of all this being done would be such a huge relief that I could sleep at night. Ha! My dreams are full of phantom classes that I didn't know I was enrolled in, tests I forgot to take or ran late to for some unknown reason or jump drives that have "data rot." (Thanks J. Wilder!)

So is it the stress that is causing me not to believe or find relief in the fact that this is all almost over? Or is it the vast amount of caffeine that I've consumed gnawing a hole in my stomach? Could it be both?

So at the end you will walk to class grinning and mention graduating and your teacher smiles smugly and says "It's nice to have dreams..." (THANKS ROBERT!) and that is another scene added to the dreams full of forgotten classes and missed finals.

For any upcoming PR majors...this is what you have to look forward to. You will experience more learning in one little class than you ever thought possible. As I'm writing this I'm seeing Robert French's work everywhere. This website for instance, is the work of "Bushy", aka Robert French.

When you sit in his class for the first time, you are going to be overwhelmed. You might even ask yourself, "Is all of this really necessary? Am I ever going to use any of this?" The answer to that, is a resounding YES.

If you ever plan on being better than everyone else in your office at creating flyers, brochures, newsletters, WEB PAGES, tweeting, facebooking, blogging or anything else that requires social media and technology, then you better sit up, pay attention and listen.

So here I sit in the DRL, testing and re-testing, clicking away, reading and re-reading, making sure all my t's are crossed and i's dotted because if they aren't...this really quite possibly may not in fact, be over.

Can it be true? Am I really going to graduate? Did all of this hard work, sweat, tears and blood actually pay off? I guess we'll have to wait until May 9 to know!
