The next Tiger Nights, which will take place next Friday, Oct. 22, will have a fiesta theme. Fiesta on the Plains will take place at the Student Center from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. Admission is free for students with valid student I.D. and $5 for general public.

“Tiger nights is a great opportunity for students and the community to come together and have a great time,” said Anne Smead, director of Tiger Nights.

The event will include free food, games, inflatable games, and a live concert sponsored by UPC.

The concert will feature the band Diamond Rio, a country band out of Nashville which hits include “Beautiful Mess” and “Meet Me in the Middle.” The band has recorded seven albums, received four "Group of the Year" awards from the Country Music Association and 13 Grammy Award nominations.

The concert will take place in the third floor ballroom of the student center at 9:30 p.m. doors will be open at 8:30 p.m. Seating will be on a first come first serve basis, and doors will be shut after the first 1,200 people.

Other attractions available at the event will include a bungee run, mechanical bull, Hot Tracks (recorded karaoke), picture trucker hats, cotton candy, laser tag, Salsa dancing lessons, caricature artists, a make your own maraca station, and free food.

“The activities we are going to be offering are fun for all ages,” said Smead.

Tiger Nights will be having the usual Tiger Nights food including hotdogs, hamburgers, nachos and cotton candy. They will also be serving cultural themed food such as quesadillas, burritos, chips and salsa, and specialty non-alcoholic drinks.

UPC is a student led organization that hosts events on Auburns campus all year long. Eleven committees make up the council and every event is planned and carried out by the students themselves.
