Julie Bunkley is a young entrepreneur who has chosen to start her business in her college hometown of Auburn. Bunkley received a public relations degree from Auburn University in 2003. After graduating she spent some time working in her hometown of Mobile, Ala. However, it wasn’t long before Bunkley returned to Auburn to start her very own event planning business, Invision.
Julie Bunkley made the decision to create Invision after spending a considerable amount of time planning events for various organizations. They specialize in full-service event planning that can help clients to organize, plan, promote and produce their special event. Invision does everything from large corporate functions to intimate gatherings.
"Nothing brings people together like a great event," she says. "The way an employee and their family feel at a company picnic, the sense of accomplishment after a small organization's successful fundraiser or the love and togetherness that comes from a wedding. These are things that you can't put a price on."
Being in a small southern college town, the bulk of her business is planning weddings. Although not exactly the only thing she had in mind when she began Invision, it has been the biggest success for her company. Although she does believe that Auburn’s size and population is a big factor in the lack of other events.
In an attempt to expand her company, Bunkley has begun to reach out to communities other than Auburn. She travels to neighboring cities as far as Columbus, Montgomery and even down to Troy. Not only is she traveling to other areas, she is now opening a new office.
This year Bunkley hopes to open a second office for Invision in LaGrange, Ga. She has hopes to spread out even more in the future.
Starting a new business in not easy, it takes a lot of time and effort. At the ripe your age of 27, Julie has already established herself and her company within her community, and that is just the beginning.
