Halloween isn’t over after Saturday. In fact, it’s extended until Nov. 11 thanks to Captain Morgan and Mix 96.7.
The radio station is having a contest at different bars downtown. Participants can dress up as Captain Morgan and imitate the Captain Morgan pose for the chance to win a Captain Morgan foosball table. Four foosball tables will be given away to the four winners. Also, winners will earn the title “Captain of Auburn.” Dressing up is optional.
“We take pictures of them,” said Jennifer Sharp, who is part of the station’s sales team. “We put those pictures on our website, Mix967online.com, and then the listeners go on and vote.”
Voters must be 21 years old, as well as the participants.
If participants are not able to attend an event, say because of dressing up for Halloween, they can have a picture taken of them posing.
The pictures can be e-mailed to Sharp at Jennifer.Sharp@QuantumofAuburn.com.
Of the many contests the station hosts, Captain Morgan has never been a part of one.
“This is the first one that they’ve done in our area,” said Sharp. “They’re doing it here, Birmingham and Tuscaloosa.”
Captain Morgan’s contacted the radio station about the contest.
Upcoming events will be at Thursday, Oct. 29 at Quixotes at 10 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 5 at 17-16 at 10:30 p.m.; Friday, Nov. 6 at Supper Club at 12 a.m.; Wednesday, Nov. 11 at Skybar at 10:30 p.m.
Sharp said there will also be drink specials.
Winners will be announced on the radio. They must go to the station to get their prize. If the table is not picked up within a couple of days, it may be given to the person with the next most votes.
Other upcoming events are posted on the station's website. Auburn Idol, a chance to win backstage passes to a Kelly Clarkson concert and the opportunity to win lunch for the winner’s workplace are three that are posted.
