Looking through www.wareagle.me, there seems to be a lack of public relations practitioners that have graduated from Auburn University. I personally know an Auburn University graduate that practices public relations that is not a member of www.wareagle.me.

I think her lack of membership comes from the fact that she graduated with a degree in Marketing instead of Public Relations. But Sharon Whitaker picked up an interest in public relations early on in her career and currently handles the public relations services for Langstaff Marketing located in Albany, Ga.

She has handled many large accounts throughout her career, including one with JLA Global that allowed her to feed her interest in international affairs. JLA Global works with associates in Argentina and China, and Whitaker got a chance to network with these individuals.

Sharon currently resides in Dothan, Ala., with her husband and three children. Her family is one of the main reason that I chose to come to Auburn, because of their love of their Alma Mater and passion to see others have the same great experience they did.

My point throughout this post is for us as members of www.wareagle.me to see that there are other people that might not be on a master list of public relations graduates that have graduated from Auburn and practice public relations. We need to venture out and see where else people like Sharon Whitaker are hiding, because they are an invaluable resource to the students and to the social network.
