Gluten Free? Try Auburn’s New Healthy Supermarket: Earth Fare.

Auburn has a new healthy supermarket called Earth Fare that is scheduled to open June 23, 2010.

Earth Fare’s products stand by 8 health philosophies when selecting products to sell in their stores.

The health philosophies are as follows: 1.) No hydrogenated or partially hydrogenated oils 2.) No high fructose corn syrup 3.) No artificial colors, flavors, sweeteners, or preserves 4.) No antibiotics or synthetic growth hormones or animal byproducts in their food 5.) No bleach or bromated flour 6.) No irradiate single source spice, produce, or meat 7.) No animal byproducts in their pet foods and 8.)

No inhumane treatment of the animals providing them with dairy products, meat, and eggs.

Among their health philosophies, Earth Fare also carries a broad range of gluten free products. This is just one unique way that Earth Fare is set apart from typical grocery stores. Earth Fare was one of the first supermarkets to start selling gluten free items and they have kept with that tradition. The gluten free products are easy to find because they are placed on shelving with a wooden edge.

Gluten free items are not just for those with Celiac disease but also for those who just chose not to consume glucose.

Gluten free diets aid people in many different strokes of life.

For those people with Celiac disease, their bodies simply cannot have glucose. On the other hand, some people think that glucose free diets help with children who suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder.

Briefly, Glucose is a protein found is most wheat, rye, barley, and oat products. To an Autistic child, glucose is the equivalent of poison. They are unable to digest gluten so it attaches to the opiate receptors of the Autistic persons brain. Essentially, Autistic kids are “drugged” on milk and wheat products.

My 7-year-old cousin suffers from Autism and has been on a gluten free diet for almost 4 years now and we have seen dramatic changes in the way he behaves.
His speech has dramatically improved as well as his interaction with others.

Up until now my Autistic cousin had to order most of his food offline because there was not a local grocery store that carried a broad range of gluten free items. That has all changed because of the opening of Earth Fare.
Earth Fare is the perfect place to shop if you want to know exactly what is in your food.

There are no surprise ingredients in any of the foods as well as all of the food and drinks that they provide are 100% organic.
