The weather is warming up, mid terms have come and gone and students all
over Auburn are counting down the seconds for their break.
Spring Break at Auburn University begins on March 15, and for many
students around campus it could not come any sooner.
For freshman, it's time to round their friend's, book their flights,
hotels or cruises and kick back for their first college spring break trip.
For seniors, it's their last time to get together with their friends
before they hit the road and venture out into the real world.
Whatever stage you're in on the college adventure, spring break is
something students look forward to all year.
The typical destination for Auburn students is only about five hours
away in the panhandle of Florida. Panama City Beach houses hundreds of
vacationing students on their week off from school. Destin, Gulf Shores
and Orange Beach are other hot spots that you're Auburn Tigers can be
found.
Surprising enough, a number of students including senior Lauren Frame
have chosen to make a long trip to the southernmost part of the United
States, Key West.
"I look at the house were staying on literally every morning," says
Frame of her house on the island. "We are taking three cars loading our
suitcases and embarking on the longest car trip I have ever taken in my
life."
Another group of students will set sail on the Caribbean seas.
For Senior, Lindsay Porter, who has been an active member of her
sorority for four years, the break has more meaning. Her group of
friends has traveled together the past three years, but this year marks
the last.
"This is my final spring break, and I wanted to do something unique and
incredible," says porter. "It's sad to think this could be the last
chance to get the girls together before we all go our separate ways
after graduation."
Porter and her sorority sisters have booked their flights and marked
their calendars because on March 15 they will check into their five
start hotel on the Las Vegas strip.
Its time to turn your heaters off and put your books away for the countdown has already begun.
