Ross Parrish, an Auburn University senior, talks about the concert.
“I’m literally counting down the days, minutes and seconds,” says Parrish. “I’m a huge Ben Harper fan and have been for years. Citizen Cope is one of my favorite bands too. I just started listening to them sometime last year, and I already have a couple of their CDs. I knew that Ben Harper was the main concert, but I didn’t hear till later who was opening. I couldn’t believe they got someone as big as Citizen Cope to open. It’s going to be awesome.”
If you want to get good seats, don’t be late. Although the venue capacity is 8,000, the floor capacity is only 750. Floor seats will be given to the first 750 people in line when the doors open. These people will receive wristbands, and only people with wristbands will be allowed on the floor.
Concert merchandise will be sold at the event, and there will also be general concessions available. Please do not bring in any food or beverages. Cameras of any kind are prohibited, and anyone caught with alcohol or drugs will be punished accordingly.
Ben Harper and Relentless7 are making a special stop to Auburn University in the middle of a worldwide tour that includes the music festival, Bonnaroo, and The New Orleans Jazz Festival.
Even the dean of students has commented on the concert, saying, “What better way to end classes than with the biggest rock show Auburn University has seen in years?”
