"Boda Getta Boda Getta Boda Getta Bah Rah, Rah, Rah Sis Boom Bah Wegl,
Wegl WAR DAMN EAGLE Kick 'em in the butt Big Blue - HEY!"

The Auburn University chant Boda Getta has a long history beginning with
Pat Dye, former Auburn football coach, addressing the crowd about the
first time Auburn played Alabama.

He told of how the sun was setting in the west, producing an orange sky
that the shakers brandished by the fans, gave off a blue cloud,
resulting in an orange and blue aura around the stadium right before a
memorable Auburn victory.

On March 27th and 28th, 2009 the first ever Boda Getta BBQ will take
place at Auburn University's Ag Heritage Park.

"Boda Getta BBQ is being spearheaded by a individual who was already
affiliated with the Kansas City Barbecue Society who is our endorsement
arm or governing body for the fact that it is an official competition,"
said Robyn Bridges, PR and communications director for the
Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau. "We work closely with them to help bring
the event about because it takes a lot of people."

The event will have a mixture of professional and 'tailgater' cooking
contests, live music Friday and Saturday, judging of the cooking on
Sunday, many food vendors and options and children's activities.

Prize money will be awarded to top professional teams and the best
tailgate cooks. Teams already registered range from the House of Q from
Springville, Ala., Bill and the Dixie Chicks from Ocala, Fla., and even
Beverly Grillbillies from Zionsville, Ind.

The cooking contests include chicken, pork ribs, pork, beef brisket and
tailgaters chicken and ribs all competing on Saturday morning.

Boda Getta attenders can enjoy live music Friday evening from 5 to 11
p.m. and Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. Musical entertainment will be
provided by Todd Vickery and Wendy Hamme, Blues 9 featuring Robert Orr,
Chris Posey and Kidd Blue on Friday Night. Route 66, Wynn Christian and
Friends, Dooley's Blue Revue and Martha's Trouble will perform on
Saturday evening.

Wynn Christian and Friends is quoted to be "A true sample of heartfelt
southern soul, blues, country, and rock'n'roll ... from Alabama to
Texas."

Blues 9 featuring Robert Orr blends jazz, R&B, soul, Motown and rock
that is quite near perfection.

This first time Boda Getta BBQ is sponsored by HDI Soluntions, Wickles
Pickles, The Hotel at Auburn University, Auburn University, Unwired,
Opelika-Auburn News, Two Men and a Truck, Bud Light, Academy Sports and
Outdoors, Sticks Country Music Festival, Special Arrangements,
Auburn-Opelika Tourism Bureau and the Auburn Chamber.

"It is going to be a really fun event with all kinds of activities,"
said Bridges. "We wanted to appeal to as broad of an audience as we
could. So not only to people who want to see how this barbecue
phenomenon goes on, with these big rigs for tailgating and cooking and
making barbecue. But also all sorts of kids activities, inflatables,
live music from local bands, all types of food vendors and other
vendors. Really something for everyone."
