Since the two Auburn guys that took off on the adventure to get a hug from Taylor Swift succeeded, an Auburn student decided that she could surely get a hug and a kiss from the rising star on Auburn’s football team, Cam Newton.

Super Cam, a popular nickname for our 6’ 6’’, 240 lb. quarterback from College Park, Ga. has won the hearts of Auburn fans.

Cory McCartney, a writer for Sports Illustrated wrote in his column on Oct. 18 , “This latest dual-threat quarterback to take over the lead did much more than survive a weekend that saw contender after contender stumble -- he dominated. Take a bow, Cam Newton.”

Jessica Pruehs, a sophomore elementary education major has a dream of getting a hug and a kiss from Cam. She has created a public event on Facebook and has gotten the attention of more than 130 people, who are following her group and trying to help her dream become reality.

The hug and the kiss would serve as a birthday present for Pruehs.

On the page where the event is listed Pruehs says, “I really want to get a hug from Mr. Cam Newton! Please help me make this happen. If those guys can get a hug from Taylor Swift, I know I can get a hug from Cam! Help me get it for my birthday, Nov. 18.”

The people following Pruehs event on Facebook, some of which attend Auburn University, some do not have offered an immense about of support for her getting her hug and kiss.

Jessica McAnnally-Linz wrote, “I’m not in Auburn and don’t know how I can help, but I’m all for you getting that hug!”

Corey Thompson Kirkland wrote, “Hope you get your two armed hug and it is the best birthday ever.”

Sarah Barnes wrote, “You know I will do anything to help you get that hug!”

People near and far are standing behind Pruehs trying to help her succeed in getting her birthday wish. She has already taken a snapshot with Cam, but that just wasn’t enough. She wants a “two-armed” hug from our local superstar, and she’s not letting anything stand in her way.

“I want a kiss from Cam Newton because I feel like he represents all that an Auburn man should be, he’s a true Auburn spirit,” said Pruehs.
