JACKSONS GAP -- If Allison Wetherbee isn't Alabama's most remarkable resident she's got to be a close second. She has no arms or legs, but doesn't consider herself handicapped, disabled or unique since, as she always tells those who meet her for the first time, "I was born this way."
That's the title of her autobiography, released this month, as well as her greeting to thousands of Alabamians she's met during the past year during travels around the state as spokeswoman for Camp ASCCA.

The 38-year-old Camden native has never accepted shut-in status and loves to get out and about, especially at Alabama's Special Camp for Children and Adults -- a facility that became her second home as she was growing up. Read more of "Author 'born' to share tale"
Congratulations, Allison!
