If you are on a vegan, vegetarian, gluten free diet or just a plain picky eater Earth Fare grocery store has exactly what you are looking for.
Earth Fare is the newest grocery store coming to Auburn. It is located on Opelika Road across from the Village Mall and will be having its grand opening on June 23, 2010.
Earth Fare carries a large selection of healthy choice groceries that are great for people on special diets or with health concerns. The store also follows a very strict philosophy about what the will carry and can be found on the stores website.

“I was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and have had to change my diet completely. I am trying to stay on a gluten free diet and stay away from high fructose corn syrup,” said Danielle Ray a senior at Auburn University.
“It will be great to have a place where I can go in and find the gluten free section right away or know that anything I purchase will not have high fructose corn syrup or anything else that is not beneficial for my health,” said Ray

Earth Fare has a very large section for people that are on a vegan or vegetarian diet
"Being a new vegetarian it is very hard for me to locate the right groceries," said Lauren Mattox a senior at Auburn University.

"Many stores do not have a large section for vegans or vegetarians and I think it is great that Earth Fare will have more options available," said Mattox
One part of the food philosophy at Earth Fare states that the stores will not carry any meat, poultry and eggs that have had any synthetic hormones injected into them. It also ensures that all of the animals were treated in a humane.
"I really love the fact that there will finally be a place to go where I can buy meat and not worry what is in it and that the animals were treated in a humane manner," said Emily Allen a senior at Auburn University, "I really try to be extra selective when buying meat, you could say I am extra picky."
If you are not a vegan or vegetarian or on any special diet but just extremely picky with the food you choose to buy Earth fare is accommodating to your taste as well.
“I am an extremely picky eater I have to know what is in my food, why they put it there, if it is good for me, and If it tastes good of course” said Ashley Adams a senior at Auburn University.
“My son will not eat anything except junk food. It will be nice to have a place that I know the food I am getting is the best available option,” said Amanda Gilliland a local Auburn resident.
Earth Fare also has a café which can accommodate pickier eaters while still producing great food.
“I am so excited about the café,” said Allen. “It can be difficult to find a nice place to eat around town that has real healthy choices that you haven’t gone to a million times already.”
“ Being so picky, it really is hard to find good large selection of food that meets all of the requirements I am looking for, I am so excited that Auburn will finally be getting a place that finally will have all that I need,” said Adams
