The Auburn Club is a club started and maintained by Auburn University alumni. With over 100 Auburn Clubs across the United States and internationally, the Auburn alumni stay tied and devoted to Auburn University. Lee County Auburn Club is the closest club to the university. Made up of over 300 members, the Lee County Auburn Club does its part to keep the Auburn spirit alive in alumni and fans. They organize numerous activities and events devoted to making Auburn University the best place it can be. They also raise money in the interest of other Auburn University alumni and Auburn fans

Michael Freeman, Publicity Chair for the Lee County Auburn Club, graduated from Auburn in 2005. Although he is originally from South Carolina, he loved Auburn so much he now works there as a part of Auburn University’s environmental health and safety department.

One special project that the club has been working on is the Friendliest Village on the Plains Project. This project was started to ensure that all people coming to Lee County feel the hospitality that Auburn University strives to demonstrate each and every day. This project is currently being used throughout the 2008 Auburn football season. Each week, the members host a hospitality tent near the Auburn Alumni Association’s tailgate area. This tent will be used to provide water, snacks and visitor’s guides to visiting team’s fans. Club members will also be available to answer any questions or give information to any person who may need assistance.

The Lee County Auburn Club will also be selling lapel pins to any person who may want them. The club has teamed with Tiger Rags of Auburn to make this distribution even more popular. Pins will be sold for $5 at the Tiger Rags tent during all home football games. These pins will further implement the idea of an Auburn family and Auburn spirit by featuring Aubie, Auburn’s beloved mascot.

This project was designed to increase hospitality to visiting fans by keeping Auburn alumni and fans aware of Auburn University’s reputation and expectations as an Auburn family. They hope to further the positive reputation that Auburn has as a friendly campus. They also hope to increase awareness that Auburn University alumni, fans, students, faculty and staff all live by the Auburn Creed. The Lee County Auburn Club is not trying to make Auburn different, it is not trying to change the way Auburn alumni and fans act, it is just trying to further promote the tradition of hospitality that makes Auburn a popular place for school, work, and life.

Lee County Auburn Club also has a Young Alumni group. This group is made up of Auburn graduates from the past 10 years or those who are young at heart. This group is a social networking group that host many functions for the young alum to meet and greet. To become a member of the Lee County Auburn Club or the Young Alum group you can visit their website at leecountyauburnclub.com and download an application or you can request a form at one of the gameday tents. All Auburn alumni in the area are welcome and encouraged to join.
