Volunteers provide creative outlet for special needs teens and young adults

The gift of self-expression is one we often take for granted.

Expressions of a Brave Heart gives this gift to teens and young adults with moderate to severe disabilities. Every other Monday, a group of student volunteers and young people ages 11 to 21 with special needs meet at the Opelika Sportsplex for classes in art, dance and music.

Dogs dress in their best this ‘Howl-O-Ween’ for charity

Opelika Main Street’s dog parade allows four-legged ghosts and goblins to enjoy Halloween by participating in a costume contest, a pet parade, and have the opportunity to trick-or-treat around shops in downtown.
