With many approaching graduation, the inevitable question is “What’s next?” Some choose the job route and have the frustrating task of a finding a job. Yet, some decide they just haven’t had enough of school and the next step is attending graduate school. Likewise, some leave undergraduate school with a degree in hand, but no job to speak of because graduate school is almost a necessity for their specified dream job.
But what does applying to graduate school take? After college applications, we…

“Baby Borrowers.” “Pam: Girl on the Loose.” “Brooke Hogan Knows Best.” “Celebrity Circus.”
Summer brings a variety of new shows to the networks. But are these new shows worth anything? For the most part, the new shows are reality television programs and the shows give the stars their fifteen minutes of fame says Mary Margaret Boswell, a senior in fashion merchandising.
And who knew these would be titles of the summer sequence. Guilty pleasures or stupid shows, you take your pick, but it is sic…

Auburn spirit doesn’t come natural. Much goes into the planning of pep rallies, tiger paw painting, even handing out orange and blue shakers before home football games.
Lesley Ireland, a junior and English major, is this year’s SGA director of spirit. She says she and her committee are responsible for planning and organizing pep rallies and allocating block seating. But her main job is to keep track of all the spirit points that are competed for by various student organizations.

Off-shore drilling
This is a major topic in our upcoming elections and I’m not sure how I feel about it.
Side 1:
I don’t want to depend on foreign oil anymore. I want to get out from under the control of major oil companies and don’t want to give them my support.
Side 2:
I don’t want to ruin any more pure land with man-made construction. There are very few beautiful areas untouched by man anymore and I don’t want to ruin the land for the creatures who live there.
It’s a long time before any deci…

Who does your hair make you?
Short, long, brown, blonde, up, down, bob, pixie, mullet... What does your hair say about you?
Hair is such a fabulous thing. It can change your look completely, make you stand out in a crowd or make you stand apart from the crowd. There are so many different things to do with your hair that you have a never ending array of possibilities for what you want to be.
If I had long blonde hair with amazing body and wave, I would feel like a completely different person than…

For most Auburn students getting ready to walk across the graduation stage on Saturday, there are mixed emotions. There is a sense of relief and accomplishment for completing four (or more) years of school. There is also a good deal of nostalgia and the sadness that comes with leaving friends and the place many have called home for the past few years.
Julia Jones, a mechanical engineering major, is moving to Atlanta after graduation, where she will get married and find a job. Her advice to stud…

Entering college as a freshman can be intimidating. So can entering as a graduate student new to the campus. But Libbie McElhaney is hopeful about the new chapter in her life. She recently came to Auburn for graduate school after attending school at the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
McElhaney said that what was appealing about Auburn’s pharmacy school (besides the in-state tuition for the Huntsville native) was its attention to students.
“They seemed a bit friendlier, a little bit more…

Something about the summer seems to make people want to become a pet owner.
For college students, the summer provides more free time with a decrease in schoolwork. The summer can also bring about a lonely house with roommates gone for the summer on an internship or a study abroad program. These factors make the summertime a convenient time for college students to get a pet. They have more time available to devote to training and taking care of a new pet.
For families, the summer is a good time…

Most college students get excited about moving into a new place -new roommates, a new living room to decorate and another adventurous year of college living. Even with this excitement, there is one aspect of moving that brings an anxious feeling to everyone’s stomach – the actual process of moving.
