Cabrera has an angel

This weekend marked the Masters Tournament in Augusta, Ga. The Augusta National Golf Club opened in December 1932 with a limited amount of member play and then officially opened in January 1933. The first tournament took place the following year, marking the first radio broadcast of the coverage as well.

This year the practice round was last week on April 6, 7, and 8 and the competitive rounds took place on April 9,10, 11 and 12.

Take a Gamble with Vegas

The economy is still suffering, but is there any perk to it? Las Vegas seems to be offering a great deal to travelers looking for a good time for a low price.

Genevieve Shaw Brown, the senior editor at Travelocity, said that Vegas is a “tremendous value right now.” Although people cannot splurge on vacations, they still need a break from the stress and work. Las Vegas is the place to go. This is certainly the best time of the year to go visit, if it is something you have always wanted to do.

NCAA men's championship game

Auburn’s basketball season may be over, but that doesn’t mean that Auburn students have tuned out. This weekend, April 4, 2009 was the final four college basketball game. Auburn students are sure to be checking their brackets and glued to their television in anticipation over which two teams will head to the championship game Monday night April 6.

The students at Auburn University give the school its warm reputation. Don’t be a litterbug!

The City of Auburn Environmental services Department, along with the Keep Auburn Beautiful Committee, is hosting the “March for Clean” Litter-Free Campaign. The campaign will include several litter stops in areas of Auburn with high incidences of litter.

The organizers of the campaign plan to distribute litter bags for cars as well as flower seed packets. The City of Auburn Public Safety Department-Police Division is assisting with this endeavor. The City is asking residents to utilize their li… Continue
