A Night of Jazz and Poetry

A black tie event may not be what comes to mind when one thinks of a typical college event, but the Auburn University Black Student Union is thinking beyond “the usual.”



On Thursday, Oct.1, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Jule Collins Smith Museum, the Black Student Union will host its semiannual “Jazz and Poetry Night.” The event is open to Auburn University faculty, staff and student body free of charge.

NAACP brings students together

A live neo-soul band, an open mic and great food. This might sound like the opening of a new bar downtown, but for one of Auburn University’s student organizations, it is a “premier event.”



The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) is hosting its first “Lyricist Lounge” of the semester Thursday, Sept. 17 at 5 p.m. in the Auburn University Student Center 2223.
