Mary Catherine Hamilton's Blog :: A New Networking Tool for Auburn PR Students and Alumni

After only two weeks, has had an impressive turnout of Auburn PR students and alumni. The new social networking site, created by Auburn PR students, has already reached 162 members, and continues to grow each day.

The new members have expressed great enthusiasm and interest in the networking site. Many have already started adding videos, listing jobs, posting blogs, joining groups, creating discussion forums and publicizing events.

Miss Glom Pageant: More Than Just A Beauty Pageant

On, Thursday, November 6, the Auburn University Glomerata staff hosted the annual Miss Glom Pageant. Since the 60s, this pageant has served as a fundraiser for the Auburn University yearbook.

“Its primary purpose is to offset the cost of printing. This particular year, the cover materials have gone up and the cover is more expensive than usual, so the proceeds from the pageant will help pay for that,” explained Ben Arnberg, the editor of the 2009 Glomerata.

The Red Cross Embraces Social Media

The American Red Cross is a volunteer-led and mostly staffed organization that relies heavily on generous donations. With our weakening economy, Americans are giving less money to charity, which, in turn, has caused recent budget cuts for the Red Cross.

Dana Fields Emphasizes the Importance of Diversity

Last week, Dana Fields, the minority programs coordinator for the College of Science and Mathematics, attended the Diversity Research conference, “Understanding Differences that Matter: Diversity Research at Auburn University.”

Since 1993, BEST (Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology) Robotics, Inc. has provided thousands of future engineering school students with valuable knowledge and experience.
