Kelli Hood :: From PR Student to Practitioner

Fall graduation at Auburn University is approaching quickly, and students are experiencing mixed emotions about leaving The Loveliest Village On The Plains. Graduates will leave Auburn to pursue their own careers. Kelli Hood, a senior in public relations, is preparing to graduate in December. Hood hopes to move to Nashville upon graduation.

American Red Cross :: Saving Lives in Lee County

The American Red Cross of Lee County serves as the area’s source for disaster relief, aids in Armed Forces emergency services, and promotes health and safety to the community through blood drives and classes. The development officer, Beth Witten, is responsible for promoting the Red Cross’ services to the community.

Diversity Research Conference Draws Interest from Students and Faculty

On Wednesday and Thursday of last week, Auburn University held a diversity research conference to highlight six researchers at Auburn who received Distinguished Diversity Researcher awards. The conference also featured two award-winning speakers who lectured on diversity issues.

Diversity: A well-known concept for Dr. Mary Helen Brown

As a young girl, Dr. Mary Helen Brown, the Chair for the Department of Communication and Journalism, saw first hand the importance of diversity and acceptance of all races. Her father owned a drug store in a small southern town, and he was one of the first business owners to integrate his store’s soda fountain in the 1950s.

Hunger Week :: Presented by the Committee of 19

Auburn University’s Committee of 19 is a student-led organization that focuses on creating awareness of hunger issues in the world and leads Auburn’s War on Hunger campaign. This past week, the Committee of 19 sponsored Hunger Week on Auburn’s campus. Each day, the committee held events on and off campus to raise awareness and money to support hunger relief.
