The Red Cross: a helping hand in Lee County

The Red Cross is an organization that has been helping with emergencies since 1881. The Lee County Red Cross is the local branch here in Auburn and was established in 1917. The Lee County Red Cross actually just celebrated their 90th birthday this past year!

Lee County Red Cross has many projects going on. They are currently raising
$100 million dollars for the National Disaster Relief Fund as part of the Red Alert Campaign.

Ansley Black is a senior majoring in Public Relations at Auburn University. Keeping it diverse at Auburn

Diversity is the state of being different and having variety. Diversity is very important on Auburn’s campus. Auburn University has a Diversity Strategic Plan developed in 2006, but AU has taken it a step further with supplemental steps that are stated in the Auburn University Strategic Plan. Auburn pledges to hire additional minority senior-level faculty, develop a minority recruitment program and develop the Diversity Research Institute. UPC celebrates kickoff on Cater Lawn

UPC, or University Programming Council, has been busy this week planning fun events for Auburn students. UPC makes an effort to show movies before they are released for DVD. So if you want a sneak peak, Hancock will be playing in Haley Center 2370 at 7:00 pm.

Graduate school: An option after graduation

Every time I get in a situation where there is no escape, such as a car ride, with my father he inevitably brings up the topic of grad school, one of his favorites now that my graduation date inches closer and closer. My father always harps on the importance of furthering my education and networking after Auburn with graduate school. Does he have a point? Ehhhh…maybe so.
